Do you ever hear a song that takes you back to the very moment in your life when you heard it? I have a couple that do that to me and this morning, worshipping while getting ready, I was taken back....
To October 1, 2014. It was First Wednesday at our church, and I was leaning on crutches in a room full of people, one hand raised high, my sister-in-laws hand on my back, as I sobbed my way through these lyrics :
When the mountains fallAnd the tempest roars
*You are with me*
*You are with me*
When creation folds
Still my soul will soar on Your mercy
I'll walk through the fire
{{With my head lifted high}}
And my spirit revived in Your story
And I'll look to the cross
As my failure is lost
In the light of Your glorious GRACE*
Let the ruins come to life
In the beauty of Your Name
In the beauty of Your Name
Rising up from the ashes
God forever You reign
And my soul will find refuge
In the shadow of Your wings
In the shadow of Your wings
I will love You forever
And forever I'll sing
When the world caves in
Still my {hope} will cling
to Your promise
Still my {hope} will cling
to Your promise
Where my courage ends
Let my heart find
STRENGTH
in Your presence
STRENGTH
in Your presence
... The first words weren't even through my speakers this morning before I succumbed to those same emotions. Talk about making it hard to put my mascara on! Sheesh!
I am overcome with gratitude for where I am and what I've overcome since that day. When my hope was lost, His promise remained!
*My soul has found REFUGE in the shadow of Your wings, and I will love you forever, and forever I'll sing!*
