Life: Currently*

LOVING:
Hearing the birds chirp first thing in the morning // not having to wake up before the birds ever again // practicing softball with my munchkin after school // WILD [the book & movie] Actually I'm pretty much obsessed and have decided I'm going to become a hiker- my hub thinks I'm crazy- however, he hasn't seen the movie or read the book, and I'm certain he will change his mind, and lace up his hiking boots, once he does. As soon as I can convince him to watch it with me for my 100th time.

LISTENING :

Love is a stranger and
hearts are in danger
on smooth streets paved with gold
Oh, true love travels on a gravel road

down through the years
we've had hard times and tears
but they only helped our love grow
and we'll stay together no matter
how strong the wind blows

oh, true love travels on a gravel road

- Elvis Presley
Since my car is still in its trial period of SiriusXm, I get to listen to Elvis all day every day! I can't get enough! I sent a video to my hub yesterday of me singing All Shook Up with the caption "I'm really going to miss the Elvis Radio..." (cough cough hint hint) He responded with "love the video, babe!" - completely ignoring my comment! Obviously our love travels on a gravel road. No smooth streets paved with SiriusXm subscriptions for us. And that's okay, I wouldn't have it any other way!

READING :

This is the second time I'm reading this book, but after I saw the movie I had to read it again! This time I'm using it more as a study guide for when I take off on a hiking adventure of my own ;) TOTALLY KIDDING! Honestly though, there is so much to learn from Cheryl Strayed. It truly is an inspiring story of a woman who is lost and broken and finds herself through her own determination. With each step she takes she leaves her past behind, and steps into the life she was called to live.

EATING:

Or devouring in this case. If you are anything like me, when you have a lot on your mind you turn to your guilty pleasures. One of mine happens to be eating ice cream... straight from the carton. Please note that I did not eat the whole carton in one sitting, despite the fact that I very well could have had the sensible part of my brain not kicked in.

So much has happened in such a short amount of time. You know the term, go big or go home? Yea, well I went big, and then I went home, and dug into a carton of ice cream. I do believe, that if you had a bite of this Heath Bar deliciousness you would understand.

LEARNING:

It's taken me a long time to figure this one out, but once I grasped hold of this truth a gigantic weight was lifted off my shoulders. Recently I had to sit down, and really do some soul searching about a couple things that weren't bringing me happiness. My job, and our church were two of the things that were high up on my list. And when it came down to it I decided that "nothing is worth it if I'm not happy," and when I was honest with myself I wasn't. So I decided to do something about it. This life is too short to continue doing something or going somewhere that isn't bringing out your best self. It isn't worth it! But we spend so much time trying to complicate things, when it's really pretty simple :
{if it's not adding to your happiness, then subtract it from your life}

Trust me, it will do your soul a whole lot of good!

That's all folks! What is on your currently list this week?
