Being a mother is one of the most rewarding and special gifts that God can ever give to a woman. More than anything I have ever done, being a mother has brought me the most joy, and happiness. And let me tell you, motherhood is not the easiest feat. It's definitely one of the hardest things I have ever done, and continue to do. The only way I have managed to survive the many seasons of motherhood is by focusing on the small moments that remind me how truly blessed I am with an amazing, unique, little girl who has a knack for pushing all my buttons, yet has the biggest heart in this whole world.
Tonight she reminded me just how big that little heart of hers is.
After school we went to Barnes & Nobles because she had a gift card from her birthday she was excited to use. On the way she asked if she could buy "her best friend in the whole world" something small. I told her she could buy anything she wanted. After she found a few books for herself, we made our way over to my favorite section, and she asked if she could go look for something for her friend, and asked if she could go ahead and check out. I didn't think twice about this because she's miss independent these days. I told her I'd be right behind her, and she scurried off. I got to the line right as the cashier handed her the bag, and she was grinning from ear to ear. I checked out, and as we were walking out I asked what she got for her friend, and she pulled out this:
And she said "here you go, you are my best friend in the whole wide world!" My eyes are filling back up just thinking about it!
My heart is overflowing with gratitude for my sweet little girls' BIG heart, that has had an even bigger impact on my life!
