When I look around
I see :
Purples and blues being replaced by oranges and yellows.
Mum's keeping warm, the spot where the Lilly's used to lie.
Yellow, orange, and brown leaves playing peek-a-boo from the sky.
Pumpkins on the front porch.
Ashes in the fire pit.
Combines being readied.
Grain bins patiently waiting to be filled.
I hear:
The song of harvest coming within the fields of corn.
Children laughing, savoring every bit of warmth.
Excitement in the farmers voice.
Applause and cheers on Sunday's when our team scores.
Crickets through the open windows.
I TASTE:
The comfort of homemade chicken and noodles, and chili, and sweet apple pie.
The refreshing reminder of fall in a cup, also known as pumpkin spice.
Apple cider.
Hot cocoa, with a blanket and a book.
I FEEL:
Excitement for the future.
A deep love for my husbands purpose in life.
Warm sweatshirts on cold nights.
Cool air calming my soul.
Blessed for the little things in life, for new beginnings, next chapters, and the change in seasons.
Grateful for this beautiful life I've been given, and the amazing people I get to share it with!
